Singer/Songwriter/Acoustic Guitarist
Michael Shelton bridges a seemingly impossible gap by playing
music that is both, insightful and emotional; gut-wrenching
and inspiring.
While growing
up in Texas, Michael Shelton became heavily influenced by such
diverse artists as U2, Leonard Cohen,
the Cure, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Elvis Costello, and Barenaked
Ladies, among others.
Shelton's
music is a delicate and passionate balance of acousti-pop themes,
modern rock fortitude, and jazz phrasing. His musical
performances are a captivating and passionate escape from
monotony into a world where possibilities are endless,
heartbreak is
random, and the redemption found in the beauty around us
is evident with
every waking breath.

A
sample lyrics sheet from Michael When yesterday feels like a smile
That you shed like a tear
I will be waiting, waiting
With arms open wide
To wrap you in a blanket
Of acceptance that you
So desperately yearn
As the years and the moments tick by
With seconds of footage playing
Before your eyes
Like a spectator that never quite sees
That the face on the screen
Is the one from your dreams
And matches the reflection you see
As you walks by the full length mirror
That sits in the hall on your way out the door
Life seems to bring
What we see in our dreams
And the moment we close our eyes
Life rings anew
and we learn what we´d do
If nothing else mattered
And the ashes were scattered
And no one was looking
But you…
When yesterday feels like a tear
That fades like a star
I will be watching, watching
For the moment to shine
And the rays to fall down
From the halo that rests
Like a crown on the moon
That covers your head like a veil
And all that mattered a moment ago
Seems like nothing at all anymore
But still you look to the skies and you say
That the strain in your voice is
Nothing lasts forever;
That tomorrow will be better
Better than the day before..
Life seems to bring
What we see in our dreams
And the moment we close our eyes
Life rings anew
and we learn what we´d do
If nothing else mattered
And the ashes were scattered
And no one was looking
But you…
If we look ahead
and forget all the rest
And the world in our throat
Turns to lessons that
Make us understand
Where A meets B
And we hear from our friends
There is peace that will come very soon...
