Troy is devoted to paint the
sensual, sources of pleasure and the celebration of beauty
and fantasy, intriguing
objects, and striking figurative representations. Utilizing
the figure Troy conveys to the viewer states of undefined emotion
with a surrealist influence including doorways to alternate
realities. He delights in utilizing a brilliant palette with
luscious handling of paint and the intensity of light that
bright hues carry to the viewer’s eye. He combines abstraction
and realism, serious graphic art elements of design with humor
and a painterly style that creates a unique presentation in
his work.
Influences
of Post-Impressionism portraiture and graphic artist such
as Norman Rockwell and Maxfield Parrish, colorist such
as Wayne Thiebaud and John Singer Sargent, and the fantasy
and romantic notions and ideas of the Pre Raphaelites and
Dali can all be glimpsed in the works. Greek classics and
